A Month of Fresh Starts

March is a month of Fresh Starts and Celebration!

This month we observe Daylight Savings, when we get to spring forward and bask in the sun for a few extra hours! Sunlight is crucial for our mental health, our motivation and our overall happiness!

We also celebrate National Sleep Awareness Week this month, which emphasizes the importance of a good night’s sleep each night to start a day, a week, a month of Success! The importance of sleep holds a special place in our hearts because it is the first step for children to find success in education. A tired child in school is an unfocused child… we can help! A warm bed and goodnight’s sleep for every child is the goal of our Sweet Dreams program.

Of course we can’t forget St. Patrick’s Day! Most of us don’t think of St. Patrick’s Day as a day of grand celebration however, this is a day to not only think of ways to improve our own Luck, but reflect on the people and joy we are lucky to have in our lives. This can also be a day to think of ways we can help our neighbors, friends and family who are down on their luck right now.

And finally, later this month, we celebrate the Start of Spring! Spring is such an important time for all of us. It is a time for growth, new beginnings, change and moving forward. We celebrate Spring by working in our gardens and getting outside, but also with spring cleaning, cleaning out, and refreshing our homes and its decor. We ask that while you complete your spring tasks, consider donating the Gently Used Items you’re cleaning out. This can include Clothing and Shoes, Toys and Games, Dishes and Bakeware, and Home Decor items such as lamps or curtains.

We hope this Spring brings you a fresh bouquet of joy and happiness!
